SOLAR SOUNDS
For my final major project before graduating from university, I created my first motion graphic experience titled "Solar Sounds". This was my initial entry into the world of planetary 3D motion graphics, where I designed an educational video that explored the sounds of our solar system's planetary neighbours.
The goal of this project was to combine motion and sound design to create an immersive experience that explored the unique sounds and characteristics of each planet. By visualizing sound waves through dynamic motion, I aimed to transform audio into captivating visuals that enhanced the overall experience.

THE PROCESS
To create Solar Sounds, I began by enhancing my skills in Adobe After Effects, focusing on its 3D motion graphics features to understand both its capabilities and limitations. After experimenting with various techniques to bring the visuals to life, I turned to research, where NASA's official website provided me with free access to the sound files I needed from their Voyager probe missions.
After experimenting with motion and compiling the audio elements, I focused on developing the storyboard and script, which were essential in completing the overall motion graphic experience.

OVERVIEW

THE OUTCOME
After many weeks and late evenings at my desk, Solar Sounds finally came to life. The final educational motion graphic combined scientific research on each planet with real audio recorded by NASA's space probes. The motion design accurately depicted each planet, creating an immersive experience.
The editing and audio visualization, paired with a script read by my voice actor, enhanced the project’s educational purpose, offering a fresh and engaging way to showcase planetary sounds and convey complex scientific concepts in an accessible and enjoyable format.
